“YOU CAN FORGIVE A MISTAKE BUT INDIFFERENCE!”

Lyudmyla Kuchmenko, CEO of GEO ALLIANCE Group

What was the Company’s performance last year? What goals do you set for yourself for 2019?

— 2018 was successful for GEO ALLIANCE, we implemented all of the planned projects. The Company increased liquefied gas production by more than 10% as compared with 2017, although production of natural gas and condensate slightly decreased. That is associated with the scheduled workovers of several wells and the natural production decline. In addition, we started to drill an exploration well in the Koshevoyske field. It is one of the deepest wells in Ukraine — 6.2 km deep. We expect that testing will yield positive results this year and then we will proceed with construction of the infrastructure facilities. Also, the Company’s plans comprise studying reservoir properties in the other fields to optimize hydrocarbon extraction processes, and a number of other projects.

What things and areas do you prioritize in order to keep your leading position among your competitors in the segment?

— We rely on high quality, professional approach to any process. This is achieved by combining Western expertise of our specialists with knowledge and skills of local specialists who understand the specifics of gas production in Ukraine. Also, we are one of the leaders in using up-to-date advanced drilling and exploration technologies, in environmental and occupational safety.

What are your personal TOP work rules and strict taboos in the working process?

— My main rule is you can forgive a mistake but indifference! The second rule – a person who thinks he knows everything loses. The third rules – everyone must do their job — you cannot be an expert in all spheres of activities. We hire focused specialists for each specific area of work. In general, at work, the same as in life, you need to improve yourself constantly, grow both professionally and personally.

Regarding taboos, I do not accept lies and, I will repeat myself, indifference.

What do you think an ideal work-life balance is? Do you manage to maintain a proper balance?

— In my opinion, there is no one size fits all formula of the “family – work” balance. It all depends on the specific situation. There are times when they need me more at work, but sometimes I need to focus on my loved ones and postpone work-related issues for some time. The most important thing is to feel when such time has come and not miss it.

What motivates and inspires you most at work?

— As for me, nothing can motivate you better than solving challenging tasks successfully. And I am inspired by the fact that I work in the industry that is one of the key industries for Ukraine’s economy. And therefore, as grand rhetoric as it may sound, our Company’s success influences not only the wellbeing of people working in the Company but the success of the state in general.
