Labour safety is an important component of developing a responsible and successful business. That is why GEO ALLIANCE Group is constantly working on meeting present-day standards in this field.
Every year the Company holds pre-medical aid and fire safety trainings. And every time these activities involve a different scenario. According to Maxim Hrytsai, Health & Safety Engineer, the GEO ALLIANCE employees themselves actively offer to rehearse various theoretical emergency situations.
In September 2020, GEO ALLIANCE held trainings in first pre-medical aid under the international training program Basic Life Support and trainings on fire extinguishing using primary means. The training comprised theory and practice successfully completed by the participants.
“There were a lot of interesting things at the first pre-medical aid training. They demonstrated to us how to render first aid correctly when a person is unconscious and shows no signs of breathing, how to correctly place a bandage to stop bleeding. They taught us how to properly do closed-chest cardiac massage and how to use a defibrillator” – said a participant, Power Engineer Serhii Zolotar.
“For me this training was very educational and useful. In the theoretical section we discussed real dangerous situations which allowed us to digest the material better. Knowledge gained in the trainings inspires confidence that I will be able to respond correctly and help not only myself but other people too, if required” – Svitlana Degtiareva, Procurement Specialist, shared her impressions.
Recently, there was a drill on extinguishing a dummy fire on a dummy petrol tanker held at the Gas Processing Facility (GPF) of the Lutsenkivske field. It was held jointly with divisions of the Emergencies Ministry in Lokhvytsia district, Poltava region.
In case of a fire at the GPF, a volunteer fire brigade comprising the PrJSC Natural Resources employees was formed. The brigade is equipped with an up-to-date motor pump. The drill involved a newly-created division of the local fire protection service in Yakhnyky which is closer to the facility than the Lokhvytsia-based fire protection division. And in the event of a fire, it will be the Yakhnyky team who will be the first to arrive at the location” – said Serhii Khomenko, Head of the 9th State Fire and Rescue Division of the 1st State Fire and Rescue Detachment with the Chief Administration of the State Emergency Service in Poltava Region.
“We would like to say thank you to the GEO ALLIANCE Health & Safety Department for holding such events for their employees. Drills involving the Emergency Services take place every year and in-house drills at the GPF on extinguishing a dummy fire – every month. It is extremely important and useful for us to gain and improve these necessary skills practicing them in a specific situation” – commented Superintendent of the Lutsenkivske GPF Serhii Zaliskyi.
